Our Sustainability & Ethics Principles
OUR SUSTAINABILITY AND ETHICAL APPROACH
At NU, we operate with a deep awareness of the impact our industry has on both our immediate environment and the world. For this reason, we place a sustainable way of doing business at the core of all our processes.
Without compromising our commitment to ethical values and design integrity, we continue to produce designs that embody intention, precision, and permanence. We constantly explore new ways to reduce our carbon footprint and strive to achieve a zero-waste approach in line with the transparent values we embrace.
Our Philosophy
For us, the essence of sustainability is longevity. Our collections are shaped by the understanding of creating versatile, timeless pieces that can be reinterpreted in different contexts and passed down through generations.
Our Partners
We work with a carefully selected network of business partners, many of whom are family businesses and artisans, with whom we have established long-standing relationships.
For over two decades, we believe that the respect, trust, and care we show at every link of our supply chain are among the most important factors determining the value of our brand.
Our Logistics Approach
We establish a balanced structure between local production and global innovation. While supporting local communities and independent businesses, we also integrate advanced supply solutions into our system. In the future, we aim to complete the cycle and establish a truly circular structure with reverse logistics and waste management systems that we will develop together with our customers.
Textiles and Materials
We go beyond the use of traditional stock fabrics. Together with our innovative business partners, we work on advanced cutting technologies, recycled content, and biodegradable materials, embracing a production philosophy where textiles are redefined.
Animal Welfare
We do not use any materials that harm animals or have been tested on animals at any stage of our production processes. Leather, fur, feathers, or similar materials are not part of our production philosophy. This approach is a reflection of our respect for all life.
Our Production Approach
We produce our garments using experimental pattern and draping techniques developed by us that push boundaries. This approach minimizes material waste and gives each piece a balanced character between innovation, craftsmanship, and responsibility.
Our Giving Back Philosophy
Contributing to our community and supporting areas we value is a fundamental responsibility for us. We contribute to the sustainability of craftsmanship by working with young designers, small production communities, and family businesses.
Supporting local talents, encouraging skill development, and establishing long-term collaborations are at the core of our approach.
Our Future
We are committed to the principle of full traceability and transparency at every stage of our supply chain, from raw materials to the final product. To respond to our customers' increasing sensitivity regarding production processes, we carry out a large part of our production in-house, ensuring control, consistency, and responsibility.
Women at NU
We believe that the value created by women in all our processes, from management to production, sales to strategy, is one of the strongest building blocks of NU's success. The perspective, leadership, and productivity of women shape not only our way of doing business but also the spirit of the brand.
